I am in my second semester of physics at Chipola. The first was just focused on classical mechanics where we studied objects at rest and motion. The examples were easy to imagine and concepts easy to test. This semester we’re studying electromagnetism and it has me saying, “What the Flux!?”
Everything we study is in minute or large numbers, the units used are foreign, and it’s impossible to grasp a firm knowledge of the material because your constantly dealing with objects of infinite size or distance away.
Test 1 - we haven’t received back after three weeks because the teacher was so depressed after grading everyone’s first problem.
Test 2 - I just finished taking and actually feel pretty confident about my answers although I don’t know what they mean.
Is anyone else having similar problems like this in a class?
Well this is my first and hopefully not my last WordPress blog entry. I was going to be unique and post it using speech recognition. However I do not have a decent microphone with me and there was too much interference ambient noise. As I write this Zach is looking over my shoulder correcting my grammar. I’m not sure exactly what I wish to accomplish from this blog… Maybe it will help me pull off a better grade in Dunkle’s class.
Stay tuned for more thoughts from Adam.
